It does sound interesting but can't you give this hungry readers Rumer Godden's books in the meantime? Or The Mennyms series?

Melissa

The Mennyms are out of print and the Godden covers (with the exception of what's out from NYRB) are horrible.

There are other things I give these kids, of course, but I am excited to have such a great new match.

Kymm

This sounds like it's RIGHT up my alley!

Maggie will devour this book. I can't wait to read it myself, but Maggie will absolutely chomp it up in a feeding frenzy.

I just read this book; it is a blend of THE INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD, THE MAGIC TREE HOUSE, and FROM THE MIXED-UP FILES OF MRS. BASIL E. FRANKWEILER. The subject matter (use of the Thorne Rooms) was quite interesting. The ending was satisfying but definitely left an opening for a sequel.
