and the winners are…

June 4th, 2009

(selected by the Sorting Hat, aka my hand reaching into the empty wastebasket containing the numbered slips)
ALONG FOR THE RIDE: Darsa M. (number 10)
SHIVER (I loved this book enough to want it in hardcover, so I’m giving away my extra AND my copy, thus two winners): Eileen (number 12) and Sarah (number 34)
CATCHING FIRE: Paul [...]

I guess it was okay.
.
.
.
What?
Okay, fine. I’ll write more.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CATCHING FIRE (excluding actual plot points, because even if Scholastic hadn’t asked very, very nicely for us not to spoil the plot, I wouldn’t anyway, because the surprises in this book are so awesome that I can’t imagine ruining them for [...]

I did in fact take an extra CATCHING FIRE, so you’re now all up for that, SHIVER, and ALONG FOR THE RIDE. Please comment on the original giveaway post to enter!
(If there’s only ONE you’re interested in, please put that in your post – I’d hate to mail a galley off to someone who didn’t [...]

My BEA boxes did not come today. I can’t imagine they won’t come tomorrow; that’s FOUR FREAKING DAYS! WHERE OH WHERE IS MY PRECIOUS??
(Because as I am sure you can imagine, I am suffering from a lack of books around here. No, really. Really! Why don’t you believe me? Where are you going?)

Lynn is the author of WHEREVER NINA LIES, a book I read last year before I was really posting here yet. I really liked [...]

Uh…I guess I was busy.

May 31st, 2009

I shipped home 85 pounds of books, catalogs and giveaways from BEA.
I am more tired than I can remember being in…maybe forever? Coming tomorrow: the story of the last two days, and, I hope, at least one review.

BEA Day Two

May 29th, 2009

In numerical, random, brief (possibly):
1. Had four and a half hours sleep last night. Cannot sleep alone in these freaking hotel rooms.  Elizabeth and Patti (I hope -her flight was severely delayed and now she’s flying into a different airport) are spending the night with me tonight, so hopefully I sleep better.
2. Am exhausted. See [...]

I’m at BEA…

May 28th, 2009

I ended up skipping the Day of Education to go to dinner with two friends and a new baby, but did attend the Teen Author Carnival in the West Village. I had a great time seeing my friend Melissa Anelli again and finally meeting Sarah MacLean! I also got to thank Libba Bray for the [...]
